Can I bring my dog to the park?

The policy regarding dogs varies from park to park.

State Parks:

The general rule in State parks is that dogs are allowed in developed campsites (regular campsites, not walk-ins or Group sites) and on paved surfaces. Dogs must be on a leash at all times.  There are a few trails at Salt Point where dogs are allowed to keep people off the highway.

State beach policy varies  from park to park. Some parks have beaches (such as Sonoma Coast) that allow dogs on leash. Fort Ross only allows dogs in the main parking lot and picnic area up in the main lot.

Regional Parks:

Dogs are allowed in all county parks and beaches on a leash. The only exception is Shiloh Regional Park where dogs are prohibited. There is a dog park at Sonoma Valley Regional Park. You can review our facilities at our web site. For further information, see http://www.sonoma-county.org/parks/table.htm.
